Once in a village lived a man who was very knowledgeable and was known for his intelligence and quick thinking. Yet this man always wanted to become more knowledgeable and smarter.
He used to pray to God for this.
One day, while he was sitting near a river, just then a pot magically appeared in front of his eyes. Just at that moment, he heard a voice, “This pot contains all the knowledgeable of the world. Use it wisely.”
Man was happy to get that pot and started thinking, “Now, i will become the smartest person in world.”
While returning home, he thought, “What if i hid this pot and keep all this knowledge to myself and become the smartest person in this world.”
He started thinking of a place which no one could reach. Then, he found he tallest tree in the village and prepared to climb it with pot tied on his chest.
When man started climbing the tree, he found it difficult to climb with pot tied to his chest, as it was causing him to stumble again and again.
A little boy was passing by that tree, when he saw that man struggling to climb up. He said, “Why don’t you tie your pot on your back and then it will be easier for you to climb.”
Hearing this, Man was stunned, he thought, “Why didn’t i think of this? A small kid outwitted me.”
At that moment, he realized that knowledge is not something to be hoarded, it belongs to everyone. So, instead of hiding the pot, he took it back to village and poured all that knowledge into river so that it can be spread across to everyone.
