Old Man And The Wooden Bowl Story..!!

The Old Man And The Wooden Bowl Story - Family StoriesAn old man came to live with his son, daughter-in-law and little grandson. Old man physical condition was not very good. His hand trembled and eye sight was weak and his step faltered. The family used to ate dinner together on the table.

But the old man shaky hands and weak eye sight made it difficult for him to eat properly and his food used to fell of his spoon on to the floor. When he drank milk, it got spilled on the table cloth.

Both son and son’s wife got irritated because of this mess. “We must do something about him. We have had enough of this noisy eating and food on floor.”

From then on, Grandfather used to ate alone in his room while rest of family enjoyed dinner at table. His food was served in wooden bowl as he had broken one or two dish. His eyes got filled with tears whenever family glanced in his direction as he sat alone.

The Little four year old kid watched it all in silence.

One evening little kid was playing with some wood scraps. His father noticed and sweetly asked him “What are you doing son?”

Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.” The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

These words struck the parents and they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

Same evening the husband took his father’s hand and slowly led him to the table for dinner. For the rest of his life the old man enjoyed his dinner with rest of the family at dinner table. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
