Buddha Response to Man Who Spit on Him!!

Buddha Response to Man Who Spit on Him!!One morning, a man who used to be Buddha disciple, came to Buddha and spit on him. Buddha wiped his face with cloth and said to man, “Do you have anything else to say?”

Monk who was sitting nearby was filled with anger and said to Buddha, “What are you saying?”

Buddha said, “As far as i know, this man has so much anger in his mind that he couldn’t express it in words. he has said it by spitting.

A person who loves more does not express it in words, he says it by embracing someone.

I understood, he has something to say. his anger is so intense that he couldn’t express in words. He said it by spitting. Now, if he has anything more to say, then he can say, and it will be over.”

Man was hearing all this and was surprised to hear this. He had never thought that this be reaction he would get after spitting. He got up and left.

Man couldn’t sleep whole night, thinking about it.

Next day, man came to Buddha to ask for forgiveness. He fell at Buddha’s feet and started crying.

When he got up, Buddha asked, “Do you have anything else to say?”

Monk near him was confused.

Buddha said, “This man wants to say something today too, but he is so full of emotions that he is shedding tears but unable to find words.”

Buddha again asked that man, “Do you want to say anything else?”

Man said, “I just want to say that i couldn’t sleep whole night because i realized i did wrong. I felt that till now you loved me but by spitting on you i won’t be able to get your love anymore.”

Buddha said, “Did i love you because you didn’t spit on me? Was my reason for love that you did not spit on me?

You were not the reason for my love. I love because i cannot do anything except love.

When a lamp is lit, its light falls, no matter what comes in front of it, whether it’s friend or an enemy. Even if a person is trying to extinguish the lamp, comes near it and light still falls on that person.

I love because it’s all i can do. How are you being meaningless. Do what you want to do and let me do what i want to do. I love and i will keep doing that.”
